About Daisy Chain Flowers
Quality
It is easy to make throwaway comments about quality, and many companies in the flower industry do, but at Daisy Chain, everything we do is built around making sure that our products are as good as you will find anywhere. For example, we:
- Keep our flowers in a specially designed flower fridge. Most flowers stay much fresher kept in the right cool conditions, ensuring that you don't get old, tired blooms in your flowers. Some tropical flowers such as anthuriums and orchids don't like being cool, so don't be surprised if you see a few flowers out of the fridge in the shop.
- Never put our flowers or plants in a pavement display. Apart from sooty particulates, which dirty and discolour any pavement display, exhaust fumes also contain ethylene gas. Ethylene is very potent at ripening most flowers, so any flowers from a pavement display will have a seriously impaired longevity.
- Never buy premade arrangements. Most florists buy in premade bunches and planted baskets to save time on smaller orders. We don't do this, as we don't know anything about the quality of the materials in these products. We make everything from scratch in the shop to ensure that only top quality material is used and so that we can tailor each order to your requirements.
- Unwrap all flowers and plants on arrival in the shop. Most flowers and plants come in plastic wraps to make transport easier, but condensation builds up in these wrappers, which can turn leaves mouldy. We unwrap everything and remove any moldy or damaged material, ensuring that the flowers and plants stay in great condition.
- Of course we want the great care to continue when the flowers leave us, so we always send out flowers with food and care instructions. There is also advice on this website on how to get the most from your flowers.
Value
We also try to ensure that we always offer great value to our customers, ensuring that our flowers are always that little bit more special. We do this is several ways:
- We buy almost all of our stock 'price seen'. Many florists preorder much of their stock from their suppliers. This means that if the price of something they order isn't good at auction, they end up stuck with expensive stock. We only preorder specific requests, ensuring that we only buy our general stock at a good price.
- We don't offer 'set piece' bouquets and arrangements. Florists and other vendors who offer standard items again end up with expensive stock if the items they need for their set pieces are not available at a good price. This also ensures that every bouquet or arrangement we make is unique and tailored to your specific requirements.
